The Governor's Challenge for State Employees

2008 marks the first annual Governor’s Challenge for State Employees which is being piloted with the Health and Human Services Agency (CHHSA).

The Challenge is a five-week program that can help make fitness part of your everyday life. The goal is simple: to make a commitment to staying active at least 30-60 minutes a day, three days a week.

The CHHSA Departments that record (1) the highest percentage of Challenge completers and (2) the highest number of active days by June 30, 2008 will be considered for the Governor’s Cup.

The Challenge is meant to motivate you to do more, every day - even when you're walking to the store or from the parking lot to work.

This site makes it easy to sign up, get active and track your progress along the way. You can also see how you're doing compared with other CHHSA Departments.

The Governor's Challenge

The California Governor's Challenge focuses on improving the health of people state-wide.

With activities to choose from, the Challenge is ideal for people of all ages - and at any fitness level. No matter how you stay active, the rewards are enormous.

If you've never done a sit-up in your life, this Challenge is for you. The same holds true if you already exercise regularly. Once you make this Challenge an ongoing part of your life, you won't be able to stop.
