Peter Kelly, OSI Chief Deputy Director

Picture of OSI DirectorOn January 9, 2017, Peter Kelly was appointed to the position of Chief Deputy Director for the California Health and Human Services Agency's Office of Systems Integration.

As OSI Chief Deputy Director, Peter brings an innovative spirit and provides leadership for the multi-billion dollar OSI portfolio of information technology projects which impact many of California’s most disadvantaged residents.

Peter has worked with public sector technology delivery for almost two decades with an emphasis in software delivery and project management. He most recently served as OSI Deputy Director for Child Welfare Digital Services and previously held executive roles responsible for project management at the Department of Health Care Services' California Medicaid Management Information System, and the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal). He began his career as a computer scientist and software development manager at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Peter’s experience in the private sector includes a variety of project management and technical leadership roles for national management consulting firms.

Peter earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from California State University, Sacramento; both with concentration in Information Systems. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Certified Scrum Master (CSM).

When not at work, Peter enjoys travelling and spending time with his wife, who works as a school teacher, and his daughter. He also enjoys creative projects like woodworking and painting.
